Just A Quick Update

August 12th, 2008 by admin

Camp has come to a close, and the real hunt for work begins. Along with finding a salary based position , I continue to work on my freelance assignments.

 Here’s the latest:

I may begin texturing these models for fun, and practice. Who knows what the upcoming weeks may bring.

WAR-UTAustin

August 3rd, 2008 by admin

This past week at camp was by far the best. I only had four students to teach, and since it would be such a relaxed environment I decided to switch things up a bit.

It isn’t abnormal for my to teach a split class, it is however not the norm for me to have so few numbers. So I thought to myself, “what could 2 Maya students and 2 ModII Students create together?

I normally just let my students model/mod whatever they want, and advise them from there Or if they are new to the software I stick to the curriculum . But this week I took my campers out for a walk on the campus; armed with a digital camera we took some reference photos of the UT Campus.

What follows was one of the coolest collaborative projects I’ve ever seen created at camp, enjoy the film

This whole experience this week has been a great one. It has shown me that environment modeling can be really rewarding! Especially if you have some grounds in reality and you have a goal, or reference to try and recreate in 3D.

Unreal Reel

August 3rd, 2008 by admin

Sorry for the buggy nature of the flash player. Wait for the movies to load, and the player will then center the movie into place.

It’s been quite a summer at iD Tech Camps, I’ve spent a lot of time learning a lot about Unreal Tournament 3, and the Unreal Editor. What follows are examples of what I can more or less import and create with the editor.

What follows is a brief reel of projects my students created this summer. While all models were created by students; I still played a part in helping students export their custom content.

At the end of every week of camp we have what is called family showcase. We project our top choice project on a movie screen and have a show for camper’s families. I would regularly export my students models into unreal tournament, and create shaders for them to fully display their models in 3D.

Still Alive

July 7th, 2008 by admin

Just been really really busy as of late.

I moved to Austin about 4 weeks ago and am hunting around for a job like a madman. In my spare time I’m working on 3 freelance projects:

• Character Modeling for Imagineer Games; a company based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico:

Here are some Screens of my first character for Imgaineer Games

Here’s the character I have modeled for them.

They seem like a great crew, and the job keeps me modeling and on my toes.

I’m also doing some • Texturing Freelance Via E-Mail and Some • Industrial Modeling for a local Austin Firm. Neither of which can be posted at this time.

Camp is going great, I’m learning everything I possibly can about UnrealEd, Kismet, Matinee, Custom Model importing, and Custom Weapon Importing. I’m really enjoying the new Game Mod II Curriculum at InternalDrive and have had a great time this summer so far.

Welcome - Demo Reel

March 15th, 2008 by admin

So I believe my website is more or less complete. Updates and works in progress to come! I currently plan to apply to some internships near the Austin area during the summer. I have accepted my new summer position teaching again through iD Tech Camps at their Austin Camp and really need to get on the job hunting EARLY this time around.

During my interview at Simutronics there was a concern with my examples of work. It has been suggested that I create some environment models with some photorealistic textures to go with them. So expect an environment coming up within the month. Since I have to teach the “Level Creation” course this summer using the Unreal Touenament 3, I think I’m going to create my environment in the UT3 Engine.

Ok done blogging, I leave you with my Demo Reel
